Vintec and Transtherm wine cabinets offer 5 key elements that are crucial to the long term storage of red and white wine.
Temperature
Constant temperature is critical for maturation of both red and white wines. The recommended temperature for ageing wines is between 12 and 15 degrees.
Humidity
A humidity level of greater than 55% is essential to ensure the cork retains its quality. Too little humidity allows the cork to dry out, shrink and allows oxidation of the wine to occur. The thermal pump system of our wine cabinets ensures adequate humidity levels are maintained. In multi-zone wine cabinets the humidity reduces greatly, therefore these cabinets are only suitable for serving wines rather than long term cellaring and storing of wines.
Light
UV and fluorescent light is damaging to wines. The glass doors of our wine cabinets are double glazed and UV treated.
Vibration
Vibration can affect the flavour and bouquet of your wine. Our cabinets feature vibration absorbers and slow cycling balanced compressors to eliminate all residual vibrations.
Air Circulation
Air circulation prevents mould forming on corks. Our cabinets have air vents to ensure slow reticulated air flow.
